Hi There!

My name is Bryson, and welcome to my website!

Bryson Jones

I'm an AI and Machine Learning scientist, and have recently been working on autonomous snake robotics at NASA JPL.

I went to graduate school at CMU and graduated in 2021 with an M.S., where I focused on Robotics, Machine Learning, and Autonomous Driving. The applications I've worked on since have varied widely, but my common interest is in writing code and developing machine learning algorithms and systems.

So far, I've mainly worked at startups and find that I enjoy orgs that bias towards action, focusing on building as fast as possible, and iterating to learn and improve.

Overall, I just really love building things, and more than that, I love building things with other passionate, talented people that I can learn from. The longer I've gone into the world of tech, I've realized that usually the actually technical act of building something is the (relatively) easy part. The hard part is putting together the team and motivating them in a way to execute.

What is this blog about?

I didn't start this blog with a particular intent of diving into an extreme niche topic to write about, but more to put my thoughts out into the world on topics in tech, software engineering, AI, robotics, organizations, team-morale, and the connections I see between them. While I want to share thoughts with the community, I have to admit, my motivations aren't purely altruistic. I hope to use this blog as way to refine my thoughts, get feedback from others, and kick some of my ideas out of the nest and see if they can fly.

Recently (the past year or so), on the technical side I've become enamored with building NeRF and Diffusion model pipelines. One of my initial plans is to spend time writing up my thoughts about building these pipelines, reviews of SOTA papers and methods, and potential use cases. The focus of these technical posts will likely evolve over time, especially as the field continues to evolve.

Finally, I'll end with saying that if any of the posts I have written are interesting to you, or you have any feedback, please reach out to me! My email is [email protected], and I'm always happy to chat more.
